Dr Bahareh Azizi
Director
Academic and scientist by training. Former faculty member at the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she published papers in the area of protein engineering. In Kuwait, she has worked at the Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI) and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of the Sciences (KFAS), where she managed several national projects to enhance the local innovation ecosystem.

Dr Basil Cahusac de Caux
Deputy Director, Research Studies
Assistant Professor of Sociology at the American University of the Middle East. He is an active researcher who has authored numerous international peer-reviewed papers on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on research within higher education. He is also co-editor of scholarly books such as Research and Teaching in a Pandemic World: The Challenges of Establishing Academic Identities during Times of Change and Wellbeing in Doctoral Education: Insights and Guidance from the Student Experience (Springer Nature).

Dr Duna Al Mashaan
Deputy Director, Education
Leader in early childhood education and literacy development. She earned her Ph.D. from The College of William and Mary, a Master's in Early Childhood Education from NYU. Dr. Al Mashaan has held various roles in New York's top early childhood schools, including head teacher and curriculum developer. As co-founder of Education First, she advocated for in-person schooling during the pandemic. She currently serves as Executive Chair of Argan Bedaya, overseeing its Early Childhood Center
